- M4 MACBOOK PRO runs low in stock on Apple’s web site
- This may suggest that a new M5 model is about to start
- However, do not expect more than a minor upgrade
The M5 MacBook Pro has been rumored for months, but it seems that the laptop could finally be ready to step into the limelight. If a recent report is to be believed, Apple’s next MacBook may appear as soon as this month.
It wouldn’t be too unexpected – Apple often releases new MacBook Pro models in the fall – but this idea is not just based on previous form. Well -known Apple Tipster Mark Gurman has pointed out a narrative clue that Apple is getting ready to release the M5 MacBook Pro.
As noted by Gurman on X, the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M4 Chip with M4 Chip with M4 Chip, looking “rather limited” supply on Apple’s web site, is with shipments delayed until 23 to 28 October. It is often a key sign that Apple limits stock of a soon -to -be released model prior to the release of a subsequent model. If the M4 MacBook Pro shows a shipping date in the middle of the end of October, it may be when the M5 edition arrives.
Gurman also noted that the M4 iPad Pro is in the same way affected by low stock, and this device also expects an impending M5 upgrade. It strengthens the claim that new models could be on the way as the two Apple devices are being joined about an impending upgrade – MacBook Pro and iPad Pro – are both low in stock.
A staggered launch plan
The MacBook Pro’s M5 upgrade is expected to be a rather smaller one, with the new chip probably the only change in note. We expect to see an OLED display and redesigned chassis in the not too distant future, but not until the M6 MacBook Pro arrives in 2026.
This device has been rumored about 2026, but the M5 MacBook Pro could throw that idea into uncertainty. That’s because there have been hints that Apple may only launch the basic level M5 MacBook Pro in 2025, with the M5 Pro and M5 Max edition coming in 2026.
The M4 MacBook Pro shipping delay suggests that may be the case. Only input level M4 MacBook Pro is facing limited shipping times, while the M4 Pro and M4 MAX models are largely not affected. This may mean that Apple fills out basic M4 laptop, but is waiting to do the same for its advanced colleagues, indicating a staggered release plan.
If Apple actually releases a set of M5-Class MacBook Pros in 2026, it can also decide to delay OLED MacBook until 2027. While the company has launched two MacBook Pro generations of one year before-did it with its M2 and m3-laptop in the 2023s it is very unusual.
In the end, we do not know for sure until the first M5 MacBook Pro models appear. An October launch event seems unlikely-MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, Vision Pro and more joined about impending updates, but only small spec-bulbs that may not be worth a full-blown event-so we probably get our first glimpse through an Apple press message. We will notify you as soon as it happens.
