Karachi:
Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) management has entrusted the newly nominated minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, with the critical responsibility for restoring peace in the province, party source told this correspondent.
According to PTI -Insiders, the management decided to make a change in the provincial top place primarily due to the deteriorating law and order situation in KP. They said Afridi will outline its priorities after formally taking the Oath of Office.
He is expected to reveal his political framework in accordance with the vision of the party’s founder, they say sources, adding that the incoming minister of chief will take a multi -formed approach to bringing peace to the province, including consultations with the federal government and other stakeholders.
“A detailed review of the security situation in KP will be implemented and a long-term and integrated peace strategy will be formulated,” a senior PTI leader is revealed. “The party believes that only an overall and inclusive approach involving all stakeholders can lead to sustainable peace in the province.”
The PTI sources claimed that management is not fully satisfied with the current federal policy towards KP and advocates a unified national approach to security issues in the province.
It has also been learned that the new minister of chief will reach political leadership everywhere to take them into confidence. “Efforts will be made to ensure a broad-based consultation process for a sustainable peace policy,” another source added.
On the other hand, key figures in Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have assured that the federal government will extend full support to the new provincial government in its efforts to restore peace in the province.
