Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani ease the mood in court Wednesday with a witty remark and said, “If the judges are not going to vote, let’s just shut down the courts!”
The exchange took place when a lawyer requested the court not to resolve the next consultation of a case for October 16 with reference to the SCBA election scheduled for that day.
Smiling, Justice Kayani replied, “If it’s rod election, ask them to close the courts,” Adding humorous: “You don’t vote for judges anyway – maybe you should start doing so too.”
The comment pulled laughter from those present in the courtroom.
