IBM and Anthropic have launched a strategic partnership to see Claude being integrated within the latter software portfolio, with IBM Bank on huge productivity gains, improved security and management and improved cost control.
The key to the partnership is the integration of Claude within IBM’s new AI-driven idea, where LLM will handle task generation for software development Lifecycle (SDLC).
IBM has already shared its new idea with more than 6,000 early adoptors in private preview and claims that productivity gains have been on average about 45%.
IBM’s idea will use Anthropic’s Claude
The company said potential customers would use its idea to handle application maternity through automated upgrades, migrations and large -scale code refactoring.
AI also steps in to take care of things such as discovering security requirements, observations and other architectural patterns, where IBM also notices top-tier security measures such as quantum-proof cryptographic migration.
“This partnership improves our software portfolio with advanced AI capabilities, while maintaining control, security and reliability that our customers have come to expect,” IBM software SVP Dinesh Nirmal noted.
IBM’s idea will support more programming languages, but the company detailed the extent of this support.
Separately, anthropic and IBM also worked together to release the architecture of Secure Enterprise AI agents with mcp-a guide to building and maintenance of company-class AI agents.
“This new ADLC methodology provides companies with a specially built, business-ready approach to development, operation and security requirements for corporate IA agents,” IBM wrote.
“This partnership with IBM lets us bring the same level of dedication to even more business teams while building the open standards that will make AI agents really useful in business environments,” added the anthropic manager of Product Manager Mike Krieger.
IBM shares rose 3.9% after the message.
