Meghan Markle was facing brutal criticism after her recent performance in Paris Fashion Week, with a royal expert branding the trip a “humiliating floppy.”
The Duchess of Sussex participated in Balenciaga’s spring/summer 2026 show, but was mocked online for her catwalk style exit, stiff positions and an awkward moment of creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli.
A video she later shared showed her relaxing in a limousine near the site of Princess Diana’s tragic death, which drew further setbacks to be in bad taste.
Talking with The expression, Royal commentator Lee Cohen said the excursion was “an absolutely affected.”
He said, “showed up on the Balenciaga show in the poorly fitting white Getup, and struts as if she’s trying on a bad parody of a supermodel-it’s all so false and forced as if she’s trying too hard to play the role of a fashion icon, but ends up as punch line.
“The video of her leaving the show has been torn apart online, and rightly; her awkward positions, the rigid walk is reminiscent of Zoolander’s over-the-top ego, and the clumsy interaction with the creative director screaming inauthenticity,” the expert added.
“This was not a triumph; it was a humiliating floppe that emphasizes her fading star power and inability to read the room.”
