- IBO performed in DI Khan’s Daraban area, says ISPR.

RAWALPINDI: An army officer embraced the martyr in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s dera Ismail Khan, where seven Indian proxy terrorists were removed, the inter-services public relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.
IBO, said the military’s media wing, was led on October 8 in the Daraban area of reported presence of terrorists.
In the pursuing operation with heavy exchange of fire, the Pakistani army’s largest Sibtain Haider, “led his troops from the front, after fought gallantly, the ultimate victim” and embraced martyrdom.
The martyred officer was 30 years old and was a resident of the Quetta district.
In response to development, President Asif Ali Zardari Martyred Major Sibtain paid tribute to and said the officer had “given a good example by sacrificing his life in defense of the country”.
In a separate statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also paid tribute to the security forces for a successful operation against Fitna Al-Khawarij.
The prime minister paid tribute to the officers and staff in the security forces for their courage and professionalism and offered special praise for Matyred Major Sibtain.
“The whole nation, including myself, is proud of the brave officers and soldiers of our armed forces who remain engaged day and night to defend the country,” the prime minister said in a statement.
PM Shehbaz also confirmed the government’s and the nation’s decision to continue the fight against terrorism until the complete extinction of this threat from the country.
“The whole nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces and support their unwavering obligation to protect the home country,” he added.
Meanwhile, with sanitization operation in progress to eliminate any other Fitna al-Khawarij in the area, weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the terrorists who remained actively involved in several terrorist activities against security forces and law enforcement agencies as well as killing innocent civilians.
IBO comes a day after ISPR said two army officers and nine soldiers embraced martyrdom during an IBO in the KPS Orakzai district.
During the operation, 19 terrorists were also killed after effective engagement by the troops.
The martyred officers were identified as Colonel Junaid Tariq, 39, and Major Tayyab Rahat, 33 – both residents of Rawalpindi.
A day earlier, the Pakistan army in its 272. Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) confirmed the army’s obligation to neutralize Indian sponsored terrorist projects such as Fitna Al-Khawarij and Fitna Al-Hindustan and promised to wander network that undermined state security.
The forum noted that the existing Nexus between terror and crime with political patronage that seriously harms the interests and security of the state and security is not allowed to continue anymore, come what may be.
The country reported at least 901 fatalities and 599 injuries, including civilians, security staff and terrorists, a total of 329 violence events, which also included terrorist attacks and terrorist operations.
KP and Balochistan – both of which share a porous border with neighboring Afghanistan – faced the incidents of the main and account for more than 96% of the total violence throughout the country.
KP was the worst hit region which suffered nearly 71% (638) of the total violent death and over 67% (221) of violence, followed by Balochistan, with over 25% deaths (230) and incidents (85).
