Imran Khan orders PTI legislators to end Punjab -Assembly Committee

Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf founder Imran Khan has ordered all party members immediately to resign from the standing committees in the Punjab assembly, said President Goohar Ali Khan.

In a speech with journalists outside Adiala prison on Thursday, he said the party is currently leading 14 such committees and that Khan has issued clear instructions for a collective withdrawal.

Following these directives, opposition leader in the Punjab assembly Moeen Riaz Qureshi has instructed PTI legislators to submit their resignation from all committee presidencies in accordance with IMRAN KHAN’s orders.

According to party sources, PTI has already begun the process of withdrawing from its roles in the standing committee of the provincial assembly. Qureshi confirmed the move and instructed all committee chairmen who belonged to the party to formally own their resignation.

“Not only will opposition members resign, but they will also return the official vehicles awarded to them,” Qureshi told the media.

Imran replaces Gandapur over security

The PTI chairman also confirmed that Imran had expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of the former Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, especially over questions related to security and law and order in the province.

In response, Imran Suhail nominated Afridi, a tribal representative, as the new KP chief minister.

Gohar called on the KP Governor to immediately accept Gandapur’s resignation to ensure a smooth power transfer. “There was no consultation with me about the change of the Minister of Chief, but such decisions rest exclusively with the party’s founder, and the party accepts them,” he said.

The PTI chairman also delivered updates on IMRAN’s ongoing litigation in which they said that the trial in the Toshakhana-II case has been completed and that the final arguments will be held on October 13, with a verdict expected early next week.

“This is the fifth false case against the PTI founder,” Gohar said, claiming the charges were politically motivated to keep Imran imprisoned. He added that Imran remains in a high mood and continues to play an active role in party affairs from prison.

Imran has also expressed concern about reports of possible military operations in KP and warned that “no operation can succeed without a solid political strategy.”

“He thinks the province and the party cannot afford another military operation,” said Gohar. “He wants the transition to the new chief minister to be quick so that the new cabinet can be completed.”

Gohar denies management operations rumors

Meanwhile, the PTI chairman dismissed reports on internal rifts and major leadership changes within the party and called them “baseless rumors.” His statement came when Party Insiders suggested that significant switches can be imminent within PTI’s central leadership.

Sources claimed that Junaid Akbar is considered to replace Gohar as PTI chairman, while Raoof Hasan could take on the role of information secretary instead of Sheikh Waqa’s Acram.

The reports appeared one day after former KP chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur officially retired from the office of the directives to party -founder Imran Khan.

However, Barrister Gohar reversed these claims and confirmed that the party remains united and that there is no “any crisis regarding the presidency.”

He rejected the reports as merely speculation. “Our party is strong and works according to its constitution,” he said. “Let me make it clear – if I were to resign today, the party would cease to exist in its current structure under the Supreme Court’s directives.”

Gohar also denied categorical existence of any forward block within PTI, stressing that all internal decisions, including those related to leadership and governance, have been taken in accordance with the vision of party founder Imran Khan.
