- Tag Heuer has a new smartwatch with made for iPhone certification
- The connected caliber e5 sees tag heuer abandoned wear us
- It has a number of health features and better iOS integration
Tag Heuer’s best smartwatches have loyally with wear with us over the years, but that is changing all with the company’s latest efforts. With the release of the connected caliber E5, Tag Heuer has shifted focus to iOS connection, complete with made for iPhone certification that accompanies the watch.
The unit is the successor to the connected caliber E4, which impressed us as we reviewed it. But by giving up Wear OS, Tag Heuer has put his latest smartwatch on a new path that equips the connected caliber E5 with its own custom operating system, sensibly called Tag Heuer us. This comes with a new user interface, fresh animations and improved menus.
Take Heuer says about 70% of its users pair their watches with an iPhone, so the shift from an Android-based Wear OS-SmartWatch to better iPhone compatibility makes sense. Created for iPhone means that a certified device meets Apple’s standards for connecting and software, and in practice it ensures better integration with iOS devices.
This means faster mating, consistent updates and better bluetooth and Wi-Fi connection. It should also improve health data -synchronization, messages and call management, all of which could be problematic for iPhone users in Tag Heuer’s earlier wear us -watch.
An Apple Watch -Altering
On the hardware side, Tag Heuer Connected Caliber E5 comes with an AMOLED screen measuring 1.39 inches across the 45 mm model and 1.2 inch in the 40 mm edition. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 5100+ chip and comes with touch checks, improved brightness and haptic feedback.
There are also plenty of sensors that enable a wide range of health and fitness functions. These sensors can monitor your blood oxygen, heartbeat and heart rhythm variability, respiratory rate, sleep quality and calories burned. There is also an accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, barometer plus double ribbons GNSs, which improves GPS accuracy.
You can make calls on the clock and play music, receive messages and view your health and fitness statistics with a package of tools. That said, it may not be a complete Apple Watch alternative in the most stringent sense as the connected caliber E5 does not support third-party apps or LTE connection. Like Apple Watch, it also lacks Google Pay compatibility.
If you are interested in this device, its pricing starts at $ 1,600. It puts it on the extremely expensive side as far as smartwatches go, but there is plenty to say for its style and brand new made for iPhone certification-if it turns out to be a success, it can give a name to itself as one of the best smartwatches for iPhones.
