- Circana’s mat Piscatella Shares Switch 2 Hardware Sales Data in USA
- In the first three months, Nintendo’s console will surpass the PlayStation 4
- He adds that growth in hardware revenue is driven by higher sales prices
Despite rising hardware prices in the US, Nintendo Switch 2 is still flying off the shelves of the region.
On trusted industrial analyst Mat Piscatella from Circana went to Bluesky to share updated sales data for Switch 2, which spans the console’s first three months on the market. He said “Switch 2 sales were able to offset double-digit percentage of falls across each of the PlayStation 5, Xbox series and Switch.”
Furthermore, Piscatella noted that Switch 2 in the United States has sold 2.4 million units in the first three months and beat the previous PlayStation 4 record of 2.2 million units sold by this US console in the first quarter that became sales.
He added that Switch 2 Sales “are in tendency to 77% ahead [of] The time adjusted sale of the original Nintendo Switch, “shows that there is a clear appetite, and then some to the newer system despite the marked increase in hardware prices since and the days of contact.
Eventually, Piscatella wrote on the hardware front that the years to date hardware expenses have increased by 20% compared to last year. “Device sales have increased by 6.5% year by year,” he said, “with the average sale price increased by 12.3%, to $ 453 per unit sold.”
The last state should not necessarily be taken as an impressive, mind. In a follow-up post, Piscatella explains that although hardware performance is strong in the United States, “it is higher sales prices that really drive overall spending growth.”
