New -threads today (game #587) – the answers
The answers to today’s threads, game #587, is …
- PEACOCK
- Bows
- APPLE
- Bullseye
- Shell
- Swoosh
- Spangram: Iconiclogos
- My rating: Easy
- My score: Perfect
All of these Iconiclogos have the same thing in common – which we do not need to know the names of the companies to recognize the brands.
Their power is such that Target’s Bullseye and NBC’s peacock are known beyond the United States, while the others are ubiquitous across the globe.
Given their fame, it is incredible to think of the humble origin of many of these logos. For example, Nike Swoosh was created by a graphic design student called Carolyn Davidson. The apocryy history is that she got only $ 35 for her work, but several years later the company gave her a gift of shares worth $ 85 at the time, but by 2023 could have been paid at $ 3 million – so not such a bad payday.
Yesterday’s new strings answer (Friday 10th October, Game #586)

- The stew
- Jambalaya
- Tagine
- Goulash
- Spanggram: Onepot
