Army delivers quick reaction to Afghan provocation

Islamabad:

Unprovoked firing of Afghan forces along the border between Pakistan-Afghanistan received a strong reaction from the Pakistani army, resulting in the killing of several Afghan soldiers and Tehreek-E-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorists.

According to security sources, Afghan forces opened on Saturday night unprovoked fire in several places along the border-inclusive Angoor Adda, Bajaur, Kurram, DIR and chitral areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Zhob District in Balochistan Province.

The firing, they added, were aimed at facilitating the cross-border movement of the formations of “Khawarij” -TTP operatives. The Pakistani army’s “alarm and vigilant” positions responded quickly and vigorously, and the exchange of fire continued until the report was filed.

Security sources said the Pakistani army immediately performed an effective retaliatory strike and targeted several Afghan attitudes. Pakistan’s “timely and precise action” destroyed several Afghan border posts and left dozens of Afghan soldiers and Khawarij militants died.

According to security officials, several Taliban staff fled their positions and left bodies spread in the area. They said the aggression from the Afghan side is coming at a time when Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi is on an official visit to India.

Pakistan is also skillfully targeted at terror camps and hiding places from Khawarij and Isis, which is near the border inside Afghanistan. Afghan forces are reportedly withdrawn from several areas, while Pakistan’s effective and intense counter -offensive continues, officials said.

According to AFP, heavy clashes broke out late Saturday between Afghan and Pakistani security forces on the common border after Kabul accused Islamabad of performing air strikes in the capital, officials said from both sides.

“In return for air strikes from Pakistani forces,” the Taliban border forces in the east, “engaged in heavy clashes against Pakistani forces’ positions in various border areas,” the Afghan military said in a statement.

Afghanistan’s Taliban government accused Pakistan on Friday for Friday of having performed air strikes on his territory and warned of “consequences”. Islamabad said its patience with Kabul is running out without recognizing or refusing to perform the air strikes.

At a press conference on Friday, Director General General LT Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry “Reports from the Strikes (ISPR) Director -General LT Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry.” To protect the people of Pakistan, we do and will continue to do what is needed. Our requirements for Afghanistan: Your land must not be used for terrorism against Pakistan, ”he added.

Islamabad accuses Afghanistan of failing to expel terrorists using Afghan territory of launching attacks on Pakistan, an accusation that Kabul authorities deny. TTP and its affiliated companies are behind most of the violence in Pakistan – largely aimed at security forces.

Including Friday’s attack at least 32 Pakistani troops and three civilians have been killed this week alone in the border areas, while dozens of militants were also killed.

More than 500 people, including 311 troops and 73 policemen, have been killed in attacks since January until September 15, the ISPR chief said Friday.

Earlier this year, a UN report said TTP “receives significant logistical and operational support from de facto authorities”, referring to the Taliban government in Kabul.

Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif told Parliament on Thursday that several efforts to convince the Afghan Taliban about stopping supporting the TTP had failed.

“We won’t tolerate this anymore,” Asif said. “United, we have to answer those who facilitate them, whether the hides are on our earth or Afghan Earth.”

He warned that any response could cause security damage. “Everyone will have to carry the consequences, including those who supply a hiding place,” he said. “Enough is enough,” he added. “The Pakistani Government and Army Patience have run out.”
