To navigate what it means to run a basketball team was the core of season 1 and it looks like The night agent Season 2 is ready to carry the torch, without a doubt with rising drama for Isla, as she not only struggles with her business life but also her personal.
Here’s all we know so far The night agent Season 3 from the release date, confirmed role crew, plot rumors, news and more.
Night Agent Season 3: Is there a release date?
New York, Washington, DC, Turkey, Mexico, Dominican Republic … We hit them all. Season 3 of #thengagent has officially wrapped production. @Netflix @sptvJuly 14, 2025
As far as The night agent Season 3 release date goes, we don’t have one yet. But from July 14, we know that the role crew and crew have officially wrapped up production, giving us a bit of an idea of when to expect it.
Thanks to an X/Twitter post from Showrunner, Shawn Ryan also revealed that after Tudum confirmed the recording in Istanbul and New York had taken place that there will actually be many more places visited in Season 3 and it has all been filmed already. Add Washington DC, Mexico and the Dominican Republic to the location list.
If I were to make a prediction on the release date, ended Season 2, which started filming in February 2024, in June 2024 and was released in January 2025. I would think we could see The night agent Season 3 as soon as the beginning of 2026, maybe even January, if we are lucky.
However, there is no official message yet, but I will be sure to update here as soon as I hear.
Night Agent Season 3: Has a trailer been released?
There is not one The night agent Season 3 trailer yet, but if the predicted release date is something to go to tied with the similar timeline season 2’s release, it could be December 2025.
Plus, a small teaser for season 2 fell in November prior to Season 2’s January release date. So we could get a sneak peek at Season 3 already in November …
Night Agent Season 3: Confirmed Role Crew
Gabriel Basso represents his role as Peter Sutherland along with a couple of recurring characters and brand new ones that get a place in The night agent Season 3:
- Gabriel Basso as Peter Sutherland
- Fola Evans-Akhola as Chelsea Arrington
- Ward Horton as Governor Richard Hagan
- Albert Jones as Aiden Mosley
- David Lyons like TBC
- Jennifer Morrison as TBC
- Stephen Moyer as TBC
- Genesis Rodriguez as TBC
- Callum Vinson as TBC
- Suraj Sharma as TBC
You will notice one Major Name is missing from The night agent Season 3 role crew list, and it’s Rose Larkin, played by Luciane Buchanan. Apart from Peter, Rose was the only recurring character in Season 2, but she won’t be back … at least for now.
And Showrunner, Shawn Ryan, also revealed to Deadline that: “We always imagined the show like telling a new story every season with a rotating role crew, and the story we broke in season 3, much to our chagrin, did not have a satisfactory place for Rose.”
But you will also notice some new names that join the role crew, as reported by Variety. Six actually who should not be so surprising to hear Given Ryan’s vision for a rotating role crew.
While no official details of their grades have been revealed, the deadline reported: “I hear Lyons will play a former spy lured out of retirement, Morrison will play First Lady, Moyer will play a top hitman; and Rodriguez will play a reporter.”
Despite the driven to another role crew, I would still expect the return of Amanda Warren (Catherine Weaver) and Louis Herthum (Jacob Monroe) considering how season 2 ended. More about this below.
Night Agent Season 3: Story Synopsis and Rumors
Full spoilers to The night agent Seasons 1 & 2 to follow.
The night agent Season 2 was focused on Peter’s very first mission as an official Natagent who led him down a dangerous rabbit hole to stop a devastating chemical weapons attack, led by the aggressive dictator, Viktor Bala.
With Viktor in prison, however, the deadly plan falls to his family, namely his son Tomás and the nephew, Markus. Although Markus eventually steered the entire mission down an even more catastrophic path. Fortunately, Peter manages to execute a plan that stops Bala’s men in their tracks, but not without victims.
Rose traces Peter down while hiding and helping him Intel on the inside in exchange for her family’s safety (which didn’t quite go as planned).
But to find out the location of the deadly chemical weapons, and next to the free a kidnapped rose, Peter had to steal a document from the UN building in exchange for that information.
And the man who traded with Information was Jacob Monroe, a rich and very influential businessman who acted with much confidential information for his own winnings and to swing the presidential election.
So despite Ryan’s vision for a new story for each season, it seems that Jacob’s story is not over yet. Especially considering that Catherine asked Peter to do Jacob’s dirty work for him after he confessed to all that had gone down to end the Night Action mission.
And it seems that the fall of Season 2 will play a big role in what is going to come. In a speech with the deadline, Ryan said, “We are still creating season 3, so I am reluctant to talk too specifically about it. But what I would say is that Peter, because he is a good, decent person at the end of Season 2, he realizes that even though he got the desired result of saving Rose, maybe stopping attacks Be part of Season 3, he tries emotionally and logistically deal with the unintended consequences of his actions in Season 2.”
As for what happens to Peter after Season 3, when talking to Variety Basso, maybe not staying around: “I will probably take a break. I think Peter is taking decisions that should happen. And that would be to do the audience a bear service if he was doing well every season.”
But he is definitely not done yet. What we also know about Season 3 is that it has been shot in several places, even more than season 2, and taking The night agent Across the globe no matter what night action comes up next. I have no doubt that it will be full of deception, action and nail -biting moments, though I’m not sure I could handle another Javad.
Will there be more seasons of the Natagent?
There is no official word about several seasons of The night agent. But talk to Variation Ryan has considered the possibility of The night agent Continuing even though Peter Sutherland doesn’t go ahead: “How long will Gabriel do the show? The show is called ‘The night agent‘It’s not called’Gabriel Basso Show.‘So there may be a time when he decides he will do something else and there is another Natagent.’
And when Variety asked Basso if we’re talking 5 or 10 years, he added “It will be before that,” he says. “Youth monopoly is energy and I think I have to convert it into service to be legitimate as a person.” It’s something you’ve certainly never heard Ethan Hunt say, but maybe Basso still has a season or two more back in the thought.
If not, maybe the future of The night agent Could swap basso off for a whole new character. Either way, it will be interesting to see how all this shapes the upcoming season 3.
