Five Shangla -Mine workers killed in Kurram Coalmine collapse

Five coal miners lost their lives in a tragic mining collapse in the Kurram district of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the victims of the Shangla district. Authorities conference, rescue operation continued to regain miners caught during the waste.

According to the first reports, the incident on Sunday found in the Yasta Tora Warai area of ​​Kurram, where six miners worked deep inside a coal mine when part of the mine suddenly threw in and caught them inside. Rescue teams and local volunteers immediately rushed to the scene and launched an operation to recover the caught workers.

According to authorities, the captured miners were identified as Tajullah, the son of Sultane, resident of Ishar Kot; Ziwarur Rehman, son of Abdullah, resident of Ishar Kot; Shaukat, Son of Tota, resident of Ishar Kot; Nazullah, son of Itibar yellow, resident of Landai Puran; and Jan Muhammad, son of yellow saddle, resident in Ishar Kot.

Rescue officials said the body of a miner Ziwarur Rehman has been regained from the rubble, while there is effort to pick up the remaining trapped workers. Heavy machines are used in the ongoing rescue operation, although progress is hampered by the depth of the mine and the water accumulation inside.

Large numbers of relatives and residents from the victims’ hometowns are gathered at the scene of the accident and are looking for updates.

The tragic incident again highlights the serious working conditions that coal miners are facing from remote and underdeveloped regions such as Shanglas Puran area, where men often travel to distant districts in search of livelihood and risk their lives in uncertain mines.

Officials have not yet issued a confirmed declaration of the total number of losses and the situation will become clearer when the rescue operation ends.
