- Bygital Dock hides your Mac Mini instead of making it to the midpoint
- Construction of aluminum alloy helps with cooling while keeping the setup visually clean
- Double USB-C and HDMI 2.1 ports make dock a power center
The swinging dock takes another approach to desktop design, and the company describes this device as a kind of “exoskeleton” for the Mac Mini.
This dock can mount the device behind a screen, under a desk or even on a wall, and does not present the Mac Mini M4 as a centerpiece of the system.
It is marketed as a merger of dock, condition, SSD extension and Vesa Mount, but its most striking feature is not technical at all, it is the decision to hide the very product it needs to improve.
A dock that hides itself instead of showing up
Bygital combines several features that most MAC Mini users would normally rely on separate adapters to achieve.
It is equipped with HDMI 2.1 output at 4K 60Hz, double USB-C host ports and three USB-A 3.1 ports offering 10 GBPs transfer rates.
This device also supports two USB-A 2.0 ports for peripheral devices such as keyboards and mice.
There is also a card reader and an M.2 NVME SSD cabinet that supports drive up to 8TB, even if the SSD itself is not included.
This combination aims to make the little Mac Mini what the creators call a “real desktop work station.”
The dock is built of aluminum alloy and claims to improve the airflow by placing Mac mini vertically and keeping the ventilation holes clear.
It has no internal fans who rely solely on its orientation for cooling. While this can help with passive heat drainage, there is no one to tell how it will work during heavy workloads.
The most visually unusual feature is the pair of “wings” that extend from the sides, designed as small shelves for decorative objects such as miniature plants or figures.
It is an eccentric mark on what is otherwise marketed as a serious productivity tool.
Bygital’s focus on decluttering the work area will appeal to those who value aesthetics cleaning, but the concept of hiding the computer can make practical use less practical.
The Kickstarter project has already exceeded its modest $ 2,000 crowdfunding goals and raised about $ 2,024 with 16 backers and 22 days left.
For pricing, the “Super Early Bird” level of $ 89, half of the expected retail price of $ 179, starts, while “Early Bird” costs $ 99, with approx. 45% discount.
Its timeline ranges from concept development in December 2024 to a scheduled shipping date in January 2026.
