Shehbaz meets world leaders in Egypt

Sharm el-Sheikh:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday met a number of global leaders on Sharm el-Sheikh Peace Summit, where the signing of a landmark peace agreement brought an end to months with conflict in Gaza.

The summit, co-chair of US President Donald Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, gathered leaders from over twenty countries in a rare show of unity for regional stability.

The Prime Minister was received by President El-Sisi upon arrival at the Congress Center, where he joined world leaders to witness the formal signature of the Gaza weapon’s agreement.

Later, at a high -profile address at the ceremony, President Trump especially thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and “My Favorite Field Marshal Asim Munir” for their “excellent contribution” to the peace process.

Trump’s remarks were followed by a standing ovation when he invited PM Shehbaz to the podium to deliver a special address.

When he took the stage, Prime Minister Shehbaz praised both Trump and El-Sisi for their tireless diplomatic efforts. He again nominated the US President of the Nobel Peace Prize “for his excellent and extraordinary contributions to stopping the war between Pakistan and India and seven other conflicts in the world”.

“Today is one of the greatest days of contemporary history because peace is achieved after tireless endeavors led by President Trump who is truly a peaceman [and] that relentlessly and tirelessly has worked through these months, day out and day out to make this world a place to live with peace and prosperity. “

“I would say that Pakistan had nominated President Trump at the Nobel Peace Prize for his excellent and extraordinary contribution to first stopping the war between India and Pakistan and then achieving a ceasefire with his very wonderful team. And today again, I would like to nominate this great president of the Nobel Peace Prize.”
