So she turns to them in an interview with Vanity Fair. The pop icon on its cover says, “It’s fascinating to see how people take your personality and spit it out – what people hold on to what people miss. I’m always interested in, just as what the relaxed viewer thinks?”
“And they probably think I’m a girl partying and doing drugs and is a little ******, adds the 33-year-old.
As far as her reputation is concerned, Charli notes: “I hate this phrase but what you see is what you get with me. People think it’s all kind of performance, but it’s not.”
She continues, “I didn’t sit here and talk to you being the way I’m on stage. But I think there’s a connection, there’s a mess and a lack of perfection.”
“It’s the combination of talking about these things while they also embrace them and really struggle with them is what makes me whole. And I think it makes me honest. You can guarantee to me, I hope,” concludes Charli.
