Moving Court to Instruct Action From Pemra, PTA, Guidance by the Council of Islamic Ideology
A petition has been submitted for Constitution for Islamabad High Court against Reality -tv -Show Lāzawāl ishq on accusations of promoting obscene and immoral content.
The petitioner, Aman Taraqqi Party President Muhammad Faiq Shah, claims that the reality -tv show is running content in violation of the country’s religiosocio values, traditions and morals. It promotes indecency and moral corruption for his young audience, the petitioner has claimed and moved the right to direct Pemra [Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority] and pta [Pakistan Telecommunication Authority] To strictly monitor “immoral” content on digital platforms.
The petitioner had further sought guidance from the court on the role of the Council of Islamic Ideology. “We support art and freedom of speech, but not moral decline and immense in the name of freedom,” the petitioner claimed.
Hosted by actor Ayesha Omar, Lāzawāl ishq is modeled on the Turkish reality show Ask Adasi. In the show, men and women live in a villa, look for a partner and participate in challenges while forming alliances. The camera follows their each movement until a couple comes out as the winners of the final.

A teaser released last month in September pulled a split audience with some cheer on the show and others who demanded its complete boycott. Yet others demanded action against the channel and producers. In response to these calls, Pemra clarified that it had received several complaints about the show and confirmed that the reality show was not licensed for TV broadcast in Pakistan.
The specified authority that its regulation is limited to TV channels while the program is streaming on YouTube and its teasers are divided digitally.
Omar has previously defended the project and described it as a groundbreaking for Urdu audience. All participants are Pakistani, she has clarified and added that production is a mix of drama, romance and competition.
The petition, filed through Shah’s attorney’s lawyer Mian Asif Mahmood, has appointed the Federation of Pakistan, PTA, Pemra, Council of Islamic Ideology (CCI) and the newly created National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) as respondents.
The Aman Taraqqi party has called for immediate steps to protect Pakistan’s religious and cultural identity.
