Meghan Markle has just landed herself in hot water for her penchant for ‘picking on’ past grievances, and all of this has been brought into focus by British royal expert Hilary Fordwich.
She spoke to Fox News Digital when he delivered this charge and was quoted as saying “MM [Meghan Markle] once again goes out of her way to reshape her narrative, subtly revisiting earlier complaints about discomfort within the royal family while again projecting her independence.”
For those unfamiliar with the comments that sparked the comments, it’s from her time at the Fortune Most Powerful Women summit where she spoke about “nesting and healing,” an admission many called a “less than subtle jab” at the British royal family.
“I think five years ago was a very different situation for all of us,” she said at the time. “Archie was so little and I had just got pregnant with Lili around the same time. So we were nesting. Rescue and healing.”
Now the pundit feels that “her remarks are less-than-subtle jabs again at the monarchy’s supposed interpersonal shortcomings. She loses both ways. Either she’s oblivious to the digs she’s making, or they’re deliberate.” Also, “if she is ignorant, then she lacks self-awareness. If they are aware, she reinforces all those who see her as treacherous and vindictive.”
Before concluding, Mr Fordwich also added, “in particular her cryptic ‘nesting, healing’ comments and references to the lack of a plan come across as a rebuke of royal norms, while being so self-centred as to further confirm her total lack of institutional loyalty.”
