Potential pilgrims can now submit applications until October 22, as there are still 4,500 places available
The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has extended the deadline for submission of applications under the Private Hajj Scheme 2026 to October 22, moving it from the earlier deadline of October 17, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported.
According to a notification issued by the ministry on Friday, all Munazzims (Hajj group organizers) have been asked to complete the reservation process for pilgrims within the extended time frame in accordance with the Hajj Policy and Plan 2026.
Out of 60,000 places allocated for private bookings, 55,500 applications have already been received, leaving 4,500 vacant places, the ministry highlighted.
A spokesman for the ministry has urged the intending pilgrims to verify the list of approved Hajj operators available on the ministry’s official website before making any payments.
Applicants were also advised to deposit Hajj fees only into the official bank accounts of approved companies and ensure that they receive both a copy of the Hajj Agreement and a computerized receipt upon completing their booking.
The extension aims to facilitate those who were unable to complete their applications by the earlier deadline and to ensure transparency in the private Hajj booking process.
Earlier, the ministry had announced that the reservation process for the Private Hajj Scheme 2026 would close at midnight on October 17 and urged all intending pilgrims to complete their reservations within the stipulated time frame.
Ministry spokesman Muhammad Umar Butt said 44,000 pilgrims completed their bookings under the private Hajj scheme against the total quota of 60,000 allocated for 2026.
He emphasized that according to the approved Hajj policy, it is mandatory for all private Hajj applicants to complete the booking process within the deadline.
The ministry advised intending pilgrims to make their arrangements only through Hajj operators approved by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony.
Furthermore, applicants who have already completed their reservations can review and verify their details through the ministry’s website www.mora.gov.pk or through the mobile application – Pak Hajj 2026. The ministry reiterated its commitment to ensure a transparent, secure and efficient process for all pilgrims.
