Marc-Alexis Côté, former head of Assassin’s Creed franchise, has spoken about his sudden departure from Ubisoft after two decades with the company.

Côté clarified in a LinkedIn post that he was asked to “step aside”, despite earlier reports that he was leaving in the wake of the formation of subsidiary Vantage Studios, for which he apparently turned down a role.
