The end is near Gene V season 2. That’s right, the show’s latest finale is almost here, and while it has a lot of narrative ground to cover, it’s exciting to know how its ending might set the stage for the fifth and final season of its parent show in The boys.
Right now though, you want to know when this season’s eighth entry, titled ‘The Guardians of Godolkin’ – wasn’t the season 1 finale also called this? – will drop on Prime Video. Well, wait no longer, dear reader. Read on to find out when it arrives!
What is the launch time for Gen V Season 2 Episode 8?
The last chapter of Gene V‘s second season will debut Wednesday, October 22. As I’ve said in several articles since Season 2 started, it’s a worldwide release for Amazon TV Originals’ next installment, so North and South American viewers won’t be able to catch it on the evening of October 21st.
Time-wise, here’s when I expect ‘The Guardians of Godolkin’ to land on one of the world’s top streaming services:
- US – 12:00 a.m. PT / 3:00 a.m. ET
- Canada – 12:00 a.m. PT / 3:00 a.m. ET
- Great Britain – 8.00am BST
- India – 12:30 PM IST
- Singapore – 15.00 SGT
- Australia – 5pm AEST
- New Zealand – 19:00 NZST
When are new episodes of Gen V season 2 coming out?
They won’t. If you skipped the rest of this article, you will have missed that I said that this season’s eighth episode will be the last. So the second season of one of the best Prime Video shows will end when the finale has aired.
That doesn’t mean there might not be more seasons. Amazon hasn’t confirmed if another eight-part installment is in development yet, but depending on how The boys‘ fifth season ends, there is potential for Gene V to continue even though the main show’s story will be completed.
If Gene V season 3 isn’t greenlit, the future is still bright for Prime’s live-action adaptation of The boys. A prequel series – Vought Rising – and a Mexico-set spin-off of The boys is in the works at Amazon MGM Studios, so this satirical superhero franchise will continue with or without Gene V.
