Meghan Markle and Prince Harry raise their voices against AI.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have shed further light on the downsides of artificial intelligence as the couple strive to save humanity.
Their statement reads: “We call for a ban on the development of superintelligence that will not be lifted until there is broad scientific consensus that it will be done safely and controllably, and strong public buy-in.”
Speaking further on superintelligence, the pair highlight various problems that could arise from artificial intelligence “ranging from human economic obsolescence and powerlessness, loss of freedom, civil liberties, dignity and control, to national security risks and even potential human extinction.”
Harry further added in a note: “The future of artificial intelligence should serve humanity, not replace it. I believe the true test of progress will not be how fast we move, but how cleverly we control. There is no second chance.”
