Simu Liu Reveals Painful Injury While Shooting ‘Copenhagen Test’

Simu Liu has opened up about his film experience The Copenhagen test.

Liu revealed that he performed several of his own stunts for Peacock’s upcoming thriller, saying: “I got kicked in the face. Yes. Many, many, many times.”

Despite stunt coordinators James and Chris Mark taking care of safety, Liu admitted that when you’re sprinting full speed through hallways, things will go wrong.

“When you’re doing fight scenes or you’re doing, you know, you’re speeding through a hallway and you’re going to blast through three people or whatever, things are going to happen. Things are going to go wrong,” he explained.

Adding: “I remember being … being kicked in the face, being thrown at things … and things like that [on the set].”

Simu Liu also shares that when actors handle their own stunts, it gives the editor “infinitely more choices about where to cut and when.”

“Here’s the thing, probably to my own detriment, I’m way too competitive with a guy. And I think ever since I was 4 years old, if I see somebody do something and I think I could do it just as well or better. I’ve always, I’m like, ‘Great. Look, get me in there. I want to join,'” the Barbie actor said.
