Why did seismic movement against Andrew take so long? Real reason revealed

A royal expert and former press secretary to the late Queen Elizabeth II has revealed the real reason why King Charles took so long to act against his brother Andrew.

Speaking to People magazine, Ailsa Anderson, who worked for the late Queen from 2001 to 2013, revealed that Andrew had been “dragging his heels”

She said, “Andrew had dragged him on his heels. They had to take constitutional advice and legal advice and surpass the lease on the Royal Lodge.”

Anderson went on to say, “They had to dot all the I’s and T’s before making this announcement.”

The report also quoted Anderson as saying the matter would have been complicated for King Charles.

The Queen’s former aide said: “It must be mixed feelings for him. That’s why it’s taken so long. It’s family and monarchy and when the lines are blurred it’s very difficult for them.”

In Andrew’s next chapter, Ailsa Anderson said: “It’s unprecedented. He’s been banished to Sandringham. He’s only 65 and you have to wonder what he’s going to do?”

Another royal expert Catherine Mayer said: “It’s terrifying for the royals and it’s another reason why they’ve been so slow to do it.

“They understand that the survival of the monarchy is not something that happens only by active consent, but because people do not think very deeply about what the alternatives will be or have strong enough reasons to believe that they will replace you.”
