William Petersen recently opened up and shared his best memories from the set To live and die in LA
For the uninitiated, To live and die in LA, was a crime thriller film that was released on November 1, 1985.
Ahead of the film’s 40th anniversary screening, Petersen attended Beyond Fest at the American Cinematheque, cherishing the memories he made while filming the classic film that gave him his Hollywood breakthrough.
In a conversation with PEOPLE magazine, he reflected on the iconic scene that was filmed atop the Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro, California, nearly 400 feet above Los Angeles Harbor.
The Manhunter star said: “Standing up on top of the bridge before the jump was pretty big.”
Petersen explained, “It was early Sunday morning, like 7 o’clock, chilly Sunday morning, and I’m standing on the railing over this bridge holding on to a bridge cable. And I’m like, ‘What the… How did I get here? Wait a minute—just a little while ago I was in Canada doing a play. How did I get on top of this bridge?'”
“It was a big day of shooting,” he noted.
