A police convoy was attacked by an improvised explosive device (IED) in the Doaba area of Hangu on Sunday, leaving three officers injured, including Station House Officer (SHO) Imranuddin, police officials confirmed.
According to police sources, the convoy was returning from a peace committee meeting when it was attacked. Senior officials including Inspector of Police (Investigation) Abdul Samad, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Tall Mujahid and SHO Imranuddin were traveling in the convoy at the time.

After the explosion, a gun battle broke out between police personnel and the attackers. SHO Imranuddin and two other policemen sustained injuries during the incident. The exchange of fire was still ongoing at the time of reporting.
SP Abdul Samad said the attack was carried out using an IED planted along the route of the convoy. Further details are awaited as the situation develops.
