The body is that of retired social worker Eadie Tulloch (Maria MacDonell), a close friend of the McCabes. Eadie worked alongside Billy’s (Lewis Howden) wife Morag (Leigh Biagi), while Billy himself was once a colleague and protégé of Eadie’s late husband Robert, a former police sergeant. After Robert’s death, Eadie lived alone, estranged from her son Ed (Stuart Townsend).
