Strands is the NYT’s latest word game, following the likes of Wordle, Spelling Bee and Connections – and it’s great fun. It can be difficult though, so read on for my Strands tips.

The theme didn’t give much away today, but after I found MAGIC I guessed we were looking for NICKNAMES for a handful of famous cities.
MOTOR and WINDY were my obvious next cities to search out, but I struggled a bit after this before finding EMERALD and ETERNAL.
The second part of today’s Strands is of course naming all the cities. I scored a six out of seven, and guessed incorrectly that Emerald City referred to Miami. How many do you know?

Strands is the NYT’s not-so-new-anymore word game, following Wordle and Connections. It’s now a full-fledged member of NYT’s game stable that’s been running for a year and can be played on the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile.
