Fillion expressed his thoughts and admitted that he is still not clear if he will ever stop working on The Rookie, which is currently in production for its eighth season.

He jokingly said, “Either I’d teach acting — especially how to act through distraction — or I’d do a booze cruise at sunset where everyone would still call me captain.”

The Guardians of the Galaxy Star went on to state that he is more interested in the art of acting rather than the fame that comes with it.

“I’m lucky enough to be doing what I love to do, which is performing and telling stories, and then there’s this whole other component to it that’s so bizarre, the celebrity part of it. I like to think that this whole industry is kind of crazy and crazy,” Fillion noted.

Forward looking Modern Family the actor doesn’t have a set time frame, but he hinted at finishing The Rookie in ten years and wants to spend his life surrounded by nature.

He shared, “I want a place on a beach, a tropical place where the birds are always singing and I can hear the ocean. I don’t know if I’ll live there full time, but I want to be able to go there all the time.”

“In 10 years, I’d like to just finish The Rookie, maybe hand it off to someone else. And then spend a soft retirement visiting The Rookie and dabbling in the four to seven Rookie spin-off series that are still ongoing and very, very popular. In the meantime, when I’m not working on them, I’d like to be at my beach house,” Nahant explained.
