The disgraced former prince, who has been accused of sexually abusing the late Virginia Giuffre in his teenage years, was fiercely protected by his mother.
The church’s vicar, Stephen Kuhrt, asked if Her Majesty had a blind spot for the son.
He wrote: “Three years after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, much admiration continues for her strong sense of duty.
“However, justice demands that Elizabeth II be given the same scrutiny as others in positions of responsibility.
“Is it really believable that she was completely ignorant of the activities and certainly the associations of the son to whom she was so close?
“If not, was her lack of action on behalf of the vulnerable compatible with the role of someone who so publicly vowed (‘whether my life be long or short’) to serve her people?
“Are we to accept the excuse that she had a blind spot to her supposed favorite child’s ‘weaknesses’?” he remarked.
