Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday directed all relevant ministries and institutions to expedite work on Jinnah Medical Complex and Research Centre, ensuring completion with state-of-the-art medical facilities under a coordinated strategy.

Chairing a high-level review meeting, the prime minister said all administrative and technical bottlenecks hindering the project’s progress must be resolved through inter-agency coordination, according to a statement issued by the prime minister’s office.

He stressed that the project should meet international standards of construction and health services, and directed that a subordinate medical center be established to serve the local population.

Shehbaz also directed that international medical experts be engaged wherever necessary to ensure that the complex meets global benchmarks in healthcare and research excellence.

During the briefing, officials informed the Prime Minister that the land acquisition for the Jinnah Medical Complex had been completed and a design consultancy had been finalised. They added that third-party validation would be done as directed by the premier to ensure transparency and quality assurance.

Reaffirming his commitment to the project, the premier said the Jinnah Medical Complex was a flagship initiative to strengthen Pakistan’s health infrastructure and research capacity. He stressed the need for its speedy completion to deliver timely benefits to the public.
