A senior lawyer stated that there is a tradition in the Supreme Court that no judge bothers the Chief Justice
ISLAMABAD:
Following the resignation of two Supreme Court judges, a High Court judge is also considering resigning from office. Sources revealed to The Express Pakinomist that an Islamabad High Court (IHC) judge may also resign soon.
On the other hand, no more resignations from the Supreme Court are expected.
It is learned that a farewell dinner was organized in honor of Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan at the Chief Justice House where other top judges were also invited. A senior jurist said that there is a tradition in the Supreme Court that no judge bothers the Chief Justice.
Meanwhile, it is learned that the Supreme Court’s armature division has sought directions from the Supreme Court regarding fixation of cases after the passage of the 27th constitutional amendment.
The Branch has issued a memorandum to the SC Registrar and Additional Registrar-Judges stating that it has become essential for this institution to obtain clear and authoritative guidance regarding the distribution and processing of cases between the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) and the Federal Constitutional Court (FCC).
