In the service, which is exclusively dedicated to women, their comfort and safety during travel will be prioritized, Sharjeel said. He added that “this service will help reduce the difficulties faced by women during daily travel in a big city, Karachi”.
The buses will have security, tracking systems and trained staff, the minister noted, adding that the Sindh government plans to extend the service to other areas in the future.
Sharjeel stated that it is the government’s aim to provide women with reliable and safe commuting options so that they can pursue their education and career with greater ease.
“This is a meaningful step towards a safe urban environment for women and the Sindh government will continue to take measures to provide such facilities to women in future,” Sharjeel said.
