Looking for a different day?
A new NEW Strands puzzle appears at midnight every day for your time zone – meaning some people always play ‘today’s game’ while others play ‘yesterday’s’. If you’re looking for the Tuesday puzzle instead then click here: NEW Strand’s Hints and Answers for Tuesday, November 18 (Game #625).
Strands is the NYT’s latest word game, following the likes of Wordle, Spelling Bee and Connections – and it’s great fun. It can be difficult though, so read on for my Strands tips.

NEW Strands today (game #626) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #626, are…
- IMAM
- RABBI
- PROPHET
- BUDDHA
- MONK
- PRIEST
- SPANGRAM: RELIGIOUS FIGURES
- My assessment: Easy
- My score: 1 tip
Even though I took a hint to get started, I’m classifying today’s quest as easy since it was only laziness that made me take a shortcut.
Once I got my first game word IMAM via a hint, the other words were really easy to spot without meandering or backwards directions, making for a quick game.
The reason for the easy search was the ridiculously long spanframe which occupied the center of the board and which made any fun and games impossible.
Yesterday’s NYT Strand’s Answer (Tuesday, November 18, Game #625)
- SURPRISED
- TOTAL
- CHAOTIC
- BLOCKED
- MULLED
- SPANGRAM: WITHOUT ORDER
