CD Projekt Red has announced this Cyberpunk 2077 has officially sold 35 million copies since its launch in 2020.
It comes from the studio’s latest Q3 2025 financial results, with CFO Piotr Nielubowicz confirming the milestone was reached faster than The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
“Gamers have already purchased over 35 million copies of Cyberpunk 2077. This is a better result than The Witcher 3 achieved in the same period since release,” Nielubowicz said in the accompanying video.
With this performance, the CFO also confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 is now the studio’s “main source of revenue” as it continues to expand the game’s availability.
Earlier this year, the game released for Nintendo Switch 2 as Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Editionthen later on Mac before being made available on PlayStation Plus.
The new platforms, as well as the game’s Phantom Liberty extension made available in Ultimate Editionmay have prompted a boost in sales.

CDPR also confirmed that it “laid the groundwork” for Cyberpunk 2 and is in the process of scaling up the Boston, Warsaw and Vancouver teams until the end of 2027.
Per On 31 October 2025, 135 employees worked on Cyberpunk 2077 successor, which has increased from 116 in July 2025.
While the study aims to scale up Cyberpunk 2 development, the economic orientation shows that the majority of CDPR’s employees work on The Witcher 4with 447 people confirmed to be associated with the project as of 31 October 2025.
There is no release date for Cyberpunk 2 or The Witcher 4 yet, but the next Witcher the game is expected to be released first, with CDPR suggesting it’s unlikely to launch until 2027.
