- Supergirl‘s first trailer could be released in a matter of days
- The emergence of a new X/Twitter account has sparked a fresh wave of rumors about its debut
- The DC comic book movie hits theaters next June
take care, Supergirl fans because the DC Universe (DCU) movie’s first trailer could be days away from its world premiere.
With Supergirl scheduled to be released on June 26, 2026, there are less than seven months left — at the time of release — until it flies into theaters. And if the appearance of a new X/Twitter account is anything to go by, its first teaser could drop sometime in early December.
Actually Supergirl the trailer rumor mill started on November 26, when a new X/Twitter account, which has the handle @supergirl and goes by the name SupergirlFilm, suddenly appeared online (credit to DCUFilmNews for spotting it first).
At the time of writing, the account does not have a profile picture or any posts, nor has it been verified with a gold cross to indicate that it is an official account. However, it is followed by over 5,000 people, and while none of those following it are part of the cast and crew of the DCU movies, the timing of the account’s live status is nonetheless quite significant.
Why is Supergirl’s first trailer expected to arrive before 2025 ends?
Because the 2025 edition of Brazil Comic-Con (CCXP), which runs from December 4 to 7 this year, is less than a week away.
After San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), CCXP is arguably the most notable convention where major announcements are made by comic book giants Marvel and DC. Reveals at CCXP aren’t usually as important as those made at SDCC, but considering it’s the last event of its kind to take place each year, it’s the last time these industry titans get to drum up projects they’ll be releasing in the coming months.
As the above X/Twitter post, which appeared on Warner Bros. The Brazil account confirmed on November 18 that DC will be present at CCXP 2025. In addition, the tweet suggests that DC will begin its promotional campaign for the film formerly known as Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow — find out why DCU co-head James Gunn wanted supergirl’s name must be simplified – also at the event.
What better way to kick off your month-long marketing spree for one of 2026’s most exciting new movies than to show the first official footage from said superhero flick? In my opinion, there isn’t one – which is why I’m more confident than ever that a teaser for the DCU Chapter One movie will be revealed at CCXP 2025.
Okay, if one is revealed at the aforementioned convention, that doesn’t mean it will be released publicly around the same time it premieres at CCXP. However, with leaked footage of the trailer potentially appearing online hours and/or days after its likely reveal, it would be in DC Studios’ best interest to release Supergirl‘s first teaser online soon after.
I’ll be covering the trailer when it drops, so keep your eyes trained on TechRadar for more. In the meantime, find out everything we know so far Supergirl and get notified about who will appear in it via my Supergirl cast and character guide.
