Attacks ignite protests; CM Sohail Afridi condemns the incident, orders inquiry and asks for report on the incident
A drone strike on former Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa minister and current PTI MPA Anwar Zeb Khan’s residence has left one person injured.
The injured person, identified as Zair Muhammad, a security gurad of MPA, sustained serious injuries in the attack that took place in Raghagan area of Khar Tehsil in Bajaur. Zeb was not present at the home at the time of the incident.
Security forces cordoned off the area and launched investigations. The incident followed a protest demonstration that shut down Khar Manda, Raghagan Road. Addressing the protesters, MNA Gul Dad Khan and other prominent figures condemned the drone attack on the PTI leader’s residence.
KP Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi also condemned the blast and termed the incident as a cowardly act by anti-peace elements.
He has ordered IGP Zulfiqar Hameed to conduct a thorough investigation and submit the report as soon as possible. He also directed the authorities to provide the best possible medical facilities to the injured.
Maintenance of law and order in the province is the top priority of the government and no stray will be allowed to escape the grip of the law, claimed Afridi.
