Saudi commander praises Pakistan Army’s role in regional peace during meeting with Field Marshal Munir

Field Marshal Munir expresses satisfaction over ‘robust defense cooperation’, emphasizes the need for cooperation

Commander of the Royal Saudi Land Forces Lt. Gen. Fahad bin Saud Al-Johani praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Army and “appreciated the positive role Pakistan played in regional peace and stability” during the meeting with the Chief of Defense Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir at the headquarters, the military’s media wing said in a statement on Wednesday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), both sides discussed issues of mutual interest, regional security and prospects for expanding bilateral defense cooperation.

The two commanders reiterated their commitment to strengthening what the ISPR described as “longstanding and fraternal relations” between the armed forces of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Field Marshal Munir expressed satisfaction over the “robust defense cooperation” between the two militaries and stressed the need for continued cooperation in training, capacity building and intelligence sharing, the statement said.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Bahrain National Guard, General Sheikh Mohammed bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, met the Chief of Defense Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, during a visit to the headquarters in Rawalpindi.

According to the ISPR, the two leaders held detailed discussions on issues of mutual interest, regional security and opportunities to strengthen bilateral defense cooperation. Both sides reiterated their commitment to expand the ongoing military cooperation between the armed forces of Pakistan and Bahrain.

During the meeting, the Bahraini commander praised the professional capabilities of the Pakistan Army and acknowledged “Pakistan’s positive role in regional peace and stability,” the ISPR said.

Field Marshal Munir highlighted the longstanding fraternal ties between Pakistan and Bahrain, saying that Pakistan would “continue to cooperate with Bahrain in all fields.”
