Jason Kelce, retired Philadelphia Eagles star and Taylor Swift’s future brother-in-law, shared details about a huge loss in his life.
At the nonprofit’s 43rd annual sports luncheon in New York City, Jason recalled the turmoil he and his wife Kylie Kelce endured seven years ago.
The 38-year-old gave an emotional speech about the miscarriage he and Kylie were facing.
While receiving the March of Dimes Sports Achievement Award, Kelce recalled leaving practice in tears after hearing about the loss.
During the speech, he praised his coaches, teammates and friends for rallying around him.
“You really find out in moments like these how great sport is [and] how amazing teams are. There are so many people who have shared with me, coaches, teammates, people in the Eagles building, our friends, and you really find out how widespread this actually is,” he told the crowd.
Kelce emphasized how common abortions are, noting that the topic often goes unspoken.
“How often do abortions happen. And that’s something that I think, a lot of times, is often not said and talked about.”
He described the experience as ‘absolutely devastating’, but realizing they were ‘not alone in this’ was hugely meaningful to him and his partner.
