RAWALPINDI:
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday that 9 terrorists were killed in two separate Intelligence Based Operations (IBO) in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
It said an IBO was conducted in Tank on the reported presence of terrorists. “During the performance of [the] operation, own troops effectively engaged the khawarij locality and after an intense exchange of fire, seven khawarij were sent to hell,” the statement read.
In a separate IBO conducted in Lakki Marwat, “two more khawarij were effectively neutralized by security forces”.
“Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored kharji found in the area,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday praised the security forces for successful operations against the India-backed Fitna-al-Khwarij in Tank and Lakki Marwat districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
The President appreciated the timely and effective action of the security forces that resulted in the killing of Khwarij, the Presidential Secretariat Press Wing said in a press release.
He paid tribute to the sacrifices of the Shuhadas and Ghazis and reiterated that the resolve of the nation and the security forces would remain firm until the complete elimination of this menace.
The President praised the morale of the forces for thwarting the nefarious designs of the Fitna-al-Khwarij operating under Indian patronage.
The Prime Minister praised the security forces for eliminating 9 terrorists belonging to Fitna-al-Khwarij in these operations.
Under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, the security forces achieved major successes in the fight against terrorism, he added.
“The entire nation stands with the Pakistan Armed Forces in this war against terrorism,” the PM Office Media Wing in a press release quoted the Prime Minister as saying.
He also expressed his determination to completely eradicate all forms of terrorism from the country.
