2025 isn’t over yet, but that hasn’t stopped HBO Max from giving us our first official look at some of its biggest shows debuting next year.
In a fully loaded ‘new in 2026’ trailer, one of the world’s best streaming services has given us a taste of some of the most notable HBO TV Originals that will drop after New Year’s Day.

There is also something for everyone. By my count, 17 new and returning series are part of this HBO Max sizzling reel, and in most cases, the footage that makes up said video is the first visual tease we’ve seen for them.
Take Lanternthe next DC Universe (DCU) TV show, which is set to arrive sometime in mid-2026 and is one of my most anticipated shows of the next 12 months, for example.
Until today (December 12th), a single image is all we’ve had to work with – in an official capacity, anyway – for the DCU Chapter One project. Thanks to the above trailer, however, we can finally see that we’ve not only seen the first footage of the Green Lantern TV show, but also Aaron Pierre’s John Stewart and Kyle Chandler’s Hal Jordan in action for the first time.
With Supergirl‘s first trailer airing yesterday (December 11) and now Lantern‘ first official footage is revealed, DC fans have certainly been partying hard over the past 24 hours. Want to know more about these projects? Check my Supergirl hub and Lantern guide for more details.
However, focusing solely on DC Studios’ next two productions would do a disservice to the other major HBO TV shows slated for 2026.

HBO Max’s 2026 preview video lands just a week after Netflix struck an $82.7 billion deal to buy Warner Bros. and its streaming business. However, Netflix has indicated that HBO Max will continue to sit independently on its own highly popular streamer if the acquisition is approved by the US Congress and other global government institutions.
