NEW Strands today (game #651) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #651, are…
- CRAB
- SHRIMP
- RIBEY
- TENDER ROAST
- LOBSTER
- SCAMMING
- SPANGRAM: SURFAND TURF
- My assessment: Hard
- My score: 1 tip
I had no idea what “Pricy pairing” could mean when I started the game, other than a hunch that we might be looking for word pairs and – continuing my literal interpretation – something to do with money.
After quickly getting nowhere, a hint gave me CRAB but I struggled to think of what went with it – Sandwich?. Next I got SHRIMP and I was still locked in a land of confusion.
It wasn’t until I found RIBEYE that I realized the pair in question were SURFANDTURF – the epitome of 1970s fancy cuisine and the perfect combination for people who can’t decide what to order.
Yesterday’s NYT Strand’s Answer (Saturday, December 13, Game #650)
- STORMFUL
- tumultuous
- CHAOTIC
- RUDE
- DISORDERLY
- SPANGRAM: THATWILD
