Simon Cowell bets heavily on fresh talent, which in turn gives nostalgia to One Direction fans.

His newly formed boy band, December 10, will release its very first music video on Monday.

The announcement came just days after the Netflix series The next act who introduced them was met with criticism.

The group consists of seven members: Cruz (19), Danny (16), Hendrick (19), John (17), Josh (17), Nicolas (16) and Sean (19).

It became famous through Cowell’s docu-series, which revived the familiar talent show format with auditions and bootcamps.

Although American Idol judge’s new project was labeled by critics as ‘dated’ and ‘derivative’, he officially signed the band under his management.

Their debut video will feature a live acoustic cover of NSYNC’s Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye recorded at London’s Metropolis Studios.

The performance was teased at the end of the six-part Netflix series and premieres on YouTube at 16.00 on 15 December.

Cowell, who previously brought out talent such as One Direction, Westlife and Little Mix, has expressed concern that record labels are no longer signing enough new talent.

“…the amount of British artists breaking worldwide has literally fallen off a cliff because I think there’s too much competition online.” X factor argued the judge.

“People don’t knock on your door and say, ‘I’ve got a new band.’ That doesn’t happen. You have to go out there and do it yourself. So that’s what we do.”
