Security forces kill nine terrorists in two separate operations across KP: ISPR

Terrorists were involved in several attacks against security forces and in targeted killings of innocent civilians

Security forces killed nine terrorists belonging to the Indian-sponsored proxy group Fitna al Khawarij in two separate engagements in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing said in a statement.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), an intelligence-based operation was conducted by security forces in Dera Ismail Khan district on December 19 following reports of Khawarij presence.

“During the operation in Dera Ismail Khan district, our troops effectively engaged the Khawarij site and after an intense exchange of fire, four Khawarij were neutralized,” the statement said.

The ISPR further stated that another intelligence-based operation was conducted in Bannu district where five more Khawarij were killed in an ensuing firefight.

“Arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain Indian-sponsored Khawarij, who had been actively involved in several terrorist activities against security forces, law enforcement agencies and in target killing of innocent civilians,” the statement added.

The ISPR also said that clearance operations are underway to eliminate any remaining Indian-sponsored Khawarij in the area, as part of a relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.

“Security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan will continue full steam ahead to eradicate the threat of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” the statement concluded.
