Three brothers among four died as shop rent dispute turns deadly in Nushki

The deceased were close relatives from the same tribe, police say the dispute between them had been going on for some time

A dispute over the rent of a vacant shop escalated into an armed clash in Kili Qadirabad, Nushki, on Monday morning, leaving four people dead, including three brothers, police said.

That’s what police officers told Express Pakinomist that an argument between two parties over the tenancy of the shop turned violent as a result of which Babu Alam, Babarg and Zulqarnain Khan, sons of Dinar Khan Badini, died on the spot.

From the opposite side, Sohail Ahmed, son of Muhammad Ayub Badini, was also shot dead, the police said.

Locals told authorities that both parties were close relatives belonging to the same tribe and that the dispute had been going on for some time. Residents said the exchange of fire caused panic in the area, forcing people to remain indoors for several hours.

The police arrived at the scene shortly after the incident was reported and secured the area. The bodies were arrested and taken to a hospital for autopsy.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Nushki said FIRs would be registered against both sides, adding that raids were underway to arrest suspects involved in the shooting.

Police said the situation had been brought under control, with additional personnel deployed in the area to prevent further violence.

A local jirga has also intervened, appealing to both sides to exercise restraint. The jirga said it planned to convene a peace jirga to help resolve the long-running dispute along with the legal process.

Residents expressed grief over the killings and urged the authorities to take effective measures for timely resolution of tribal and property-related disputes.
