ISLAMABAD:
The Director General of the NCCIA informed a parliamentary panel that the agency is facing serious shortages of trained personnel and financial resources.
He revealed that in 2025 alone, the NCCIA received 22,500 complaints, registered 620 cases and secured only 26 convictions, with one officer handling an average of 565 complaints.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) chairman told the committee that over 1.5 million URLs had been blocked during the current year, including thousands related to defamation, impersonation and immoral content.
