- Sony WF-1000XM6 earphones leak online again, with listings for black and silver versions
- Replacement ear tips have been listed on a parts dealer’s website
- The availability date is in February 2026
Here’s hoping Sony never gets into the spy business, because it’s pretty bad at keeping secrets: the unreleased ones have been leaking for months now, including on Sony’s own Sound Connect app, and this week a retailer seems to have leaked their color options and impending availability.
The leak comes via the eagle-eyed folks at The Walkman Blog, who spotted two parts listings for the WF-1000XM6 earphones on the Encompass Parts website. And if these listings are accurate, the launch could be just a few weeks away.
Sony WF-1000XM6 earphones: what does the latest leak tell us?
Encompass Parts is a specialist dealer that supplies parts for a wide range of products, and its website details parts for both black and silver versions of the WF-1000XM6.
Interestingly, when I followed the links from the Walkman blog to the relevant listing pages, I got a big red X and a page telling me that I was blocked from accessing the site because it is “protect[ing] protect yourself from online attacks” – but apparently that wasn’t a problem for The Walkman Blog in the past.
While Encompass is busy locking the barn door, The Walkman Blog has screenshots of the headphone horse: listings of replacement silicone eartips for the WF-1000XM6 with a shipping date of February 27, 2026. That’s just nine weeks away.
As always with leaks, there’s a lot we still don’t know – and it’s possible that the date in the product listings is just a placeholder, although it’s pretty specific if that’s the case.
If the date is correct, we might even hear something about the earphones at CES 2026, if not from Sony, then perhaps even more from leaks: if a February shipping date is indeed on the cards, the earphones will move to retailers in good time, and the more people who know about the earphones, the more likely detailed leaks will be.
If you can’t wait until February, the Sony WF-1000XM5 has got some big discounts – although the flagship earphones that we think the XM6 really has to compete with are the magnificent Technics EAH-AZ100.
