Killed Khawarij was actively involved in attacks against security forces, killing of innocent civilians, says ISPR

An army major embraced martyrdom while five terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy Fitna al Khawarij were killed during an intelligence-based operation in the general area of ​​Khar, Bajaur district, the military’s media wing said on Monday.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted on 29 December 2025 following reports of the presence of terrorists in the area. During the execution of the operation, effective engagement by security forces resulted in the killing of five Indian-sponsored Khawarij.

The ISPR said that during an intense exchange of fire, Major Adeel Zaman (36), a resident of Dera Ismail Khan district, who led his troops from the front, fought gallantly and made the ultimate sacrifice and embraced the shahadat.

The statement added that arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain Khawarij, who was actively involved in several terrorist activities against security forces and law enforcement agencies, as well as in the killing of innocent civilians.

“Disinfection operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored Khawarij present in the area,” ISPR said.

It further stated that the relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam — approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan — will continue in full swing to eliminate the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
