KARACHI:

The Sindh High Court Bar Association has strongly condemned the registration of an FIR against advocate Abdul Fattah Chandio, advocate Riaz Ali Solangi and 15 other lawyers terming it as abuse of legal process for allegedly attacking YouTuber Rajab Butt.

The association noted that the case was filed at the request of a lawyer outside Sindh without following proper procedure which should have been passed through the Sindh Bar Council.

It emphasized that lodging an FIR against other lawyers at the behest of a client is inappropriate and poses a serious threat to the independence of the legal profession. The lawyer demanded immediate corrective measures to protect the rights of the legal community.

Separately, the police registered FIR No. 2025/290 at the district court police station on the complaint of advocate Ali Ashfaq. He claimed that on December 29, 2025, while accompanying his client Razaq Butt to a bail hearing in a blasphemy-related case, Butt was attacked near the West Building inside the District Court premises.
