calls for efforts to create lasting peace and stability in the war-torn country
Pakistan expressed deep concern over the resurgence of violence in Yemen and strongly opposed any unilateral move by any Yemeni party that could further escalate the situation, the foreign ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
Reiterating its longstanding position, the State Department reaffirmed support for Yemen’s unity and territorial integrity and for all efforts to bring lasting peace and stability to the war-torn country.
“Pakistan strongly opposes unilateral actions that could exacerbate tensions, undermine peace efforts and threaten peace and stability in Yemen and the wider region,” the statement said.
The Foreign Office said Pakistan also welcomed regional initiatives aimed at de-escalating the situation and maintaining peace and stability in Yemen. It expressed “full solidarity” with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and reaffirmed its commitment to the Kingdom’s security.
Confirming its diplomatic approach, the Foreign Office said it strongly supports the resolution of the Yemen issue through dialogue and diplomacy. It expressed hope that the Yemeni people and regional stakeholders would work together toward “an inclusive and lasting solution,” the statement added, stressing the importance of ensuring regional stability.
